The Family of Vern Parker

Vernon O. Parker was born July, 1899, perhaps in Hanford, California, most likely in Lindsay, California. His mother was Anna Bills from Feldon County, Illinois, his father was James Madison Parker, of Wills Point, Texas. Nothing is known of his mother's family, but the Parker line dates back to the 1300's in England, where his ancestor imigrated from Cornwall to Virginia in the 1600's. From Virginia the Parkers moved to North Carolina, to Franklin County, Alabama. James Madison's father, Green, took his wife, Catherine "Docia" Burns and his family to Texas. James Madison then moved his family to California, where the five younger of eight children were born. Vernon and his twin sister, Vera, were the youngest in the family. James Madison and Anna Parker are both buried in the Lindsay Cemetery, Lindsay, California. Green and "Docia" Parker are buried at Wills Point, Texas.
